Star Wars Land is currently under construction at Disney's Hollywood Studios and at Disneyland Resort in California. Therefore, we will be posting a timeline of any updates below until the land officially opens in a few years time! The newest updates will be at the top of the list below...
14th April 2016: Disney Parks Blog announces the grondbreaking of Star Wars Land at both Disneyland and Hollywood Studios. In association with Littlstar, they released a 360 degree photo of the Disneyland groundbreaking with nods to DHS.
4th April 2016: Various Hollywood Studios attractions including the Streets of America and Lights Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show, close to make way for the expansion projects at the park.
3rd March 2016: Disney CEO Bob Iger announces at the Disney Shareholders meeting that construction on both versions of the land will begin in April 2016.
15th August 2015: Star Wars Land is officially announced at the D23 Expo. The new land is being marketed at the event as 'the biggest expansion in the theme park's history'. The new land is confirmed to be 14 acres in size, and will immerse guests in a land never seen before in the Star Wars films - a gateway planet located on the outer rim. Two attractions were announced for the land. The first is aboard the Millenium Falcon, and the second puts guests in the middle of a climatic battle between the First Order and the Resistance!
