Blog: Top 5 Snacks at WDW

Many locations at the Walt Disney World Resort offer a variety of different snacks - some sweet, some savory and some that are share-able! Many of the snacks available at the parks and resorts are simply delicious (obviously that depends on your opinion) but I have whittled them down to my personal 'Top 5 Snacks at Walt Disney World'! Be sure to comment using our new Facebook commenting system at the bottom of the post (if you are viewing this blog post on the main page - i.e. with all of the other posts - simply click on the post title to view the commenting option too!) #5 - Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar A Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar is a delicious vanilla ice cream coated in gloriously smooth dark chocolate - and to top it all off, it's shaped like Mickey! This is definitely a great way to cool off after spending time in the sweltering Florida summer sun! There is nothing 'special' and decadent about a Mickey Premium Bar, but it seems to taste 100x better than similar ice creams sold off-property, and I don't know why - it just does! The Mickey Premium Bar is sold in most snack locations around the Walt Disney World Resort, and is part of the Disney Dining Plan, so you can use your snack credits to purchase one of these tasty and cooling treats! #4 - Pretzels Pretzels are one of the most common snacks around the Walt Disney World resort. They are found at many locations around the parks, and are great quick and filling snack to keep you going at the parks. Pretzels are relatively inexpensive and are also part of the Disney Dining Plan, so be sure to use your snack credit on one of these delicious treats. The parks also sell other specialty pretzels - for example, the Magic Kingdom sells Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzels, which are delicious! Photo from Disney Parks Blog.

#3 - Cupcakes Disney World cupcakes are certainly some of the best I have ever tasted. Whether this be the standard all-year-round cupcakes, or the limited time releases, they are all something else! Disney releases limited-time cupcakes for most events and new launches - including their ticketed events such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, new film releases such as Frozen, and basically any other event in-between! Disney World cupcakes come in a wide range of different flavorings (from carrot cake, to chocolate cake, to normal vanilla, to berry flavored) and also with different toppings and decoration. My favourite flavor is the plain vanilla cupcake, although I did enjoy the Olaf carrot cake with cream cheese icing! Photo below from DIS/WDWInfo.

#2 - Churros Churro's are scrumptious cinnamon sugar covered doughnut sticks. They are a great on-the-go snack if you are feeling a bit peckish. They are perfectly sized for one, although can be shared if you have a smaller appetite. Churro's are not found everywhere at Walt Disney World, but can certainly be found in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The best place in the Magic Kingdom to buy them is in Frontierland at the Churro and Prezel cart opposite Country Bear Jamboree. Photo below from Doctor Disney.

#1 - Dole Whip Our number one snack at Walt Disney World is definitely the Dole Whip. A Dole Whip is pineapple flavored ice cream. They are only available at very specific locations at the resort - namely in Adventureland, Magic Kingdom and Captain Cooks, Polynesian Resort. Dole Whip is either served as soft-serve ice cream, or as a float atop fresh pineapple juice. I can assure you - this is one of the tastiest and most refreshing sweet treats you will ever taste and it is definitely worth buying - they are inexpensive and the portions are large!
