Following thae announcement that TCM is new sponsors of Great Movie Ride, new addditions and changes were finally debuted at the attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios. There are no major changes to the ride itself, although some much-needed changes and additions have been added.
Firstly, the signage for the attraction on the outside of the Chinese Theater now features 'Presented by TCM - Turner Classic Movies' This singage fits the neon nature of the old GMR signs, All exerior window displays now also feature TCM branding.
Secondly, the most significant change is the brand new pre-show to the attraction. The video is much longer than the old show, and now fatures Rob Osborne as host of the attraction. The new digital projections accompany the new digital posters, which show a range of classic movie posters.
Thirdly, the neon signage in the loading area for the attraction has also been updated to reflect the new sponsorship. Another change on the ride is a new finale video, featuring Robert Osborne as host, along with classic films (such as Good Morning Vietnam) and newer releases such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Frozen.
Finally, a new photo oportunity has been added upon exit of the attraction.
The changes to the attraction are minimal, and those who are not very familiar with the attraction will not notice the differences. The updates are much-needed, and we hope TCM may sponsor some further changes to the attraction scenes and animatronics.
