Disney has today filed plans to demolish the Richard Petty Driving Experience, and replace the area with more Magic Kingdom parking. Disney announced at the beginning of the year that the Driving Experience, situated at the Transportation and Ticket Center, would be closing later this year to make way for transportation improvements. The Magic Kingdom can now accept a higher capacity, thanks to the New Fantasyland expansion, and the TTC parking lot can reach capacity before the park itself!
Roadway and signalling improvements are also expected as part of this expansion to parking.
