The popular Frozen Summer Fun event returns for the 2015 season, with new and improved offerings across Disney's Hollywood Studios! The event ran through an extended period in 2014, where is proved a huge sucess and officially brought the Frozen film into the Walt Disney World Parks. Due to its sucess last year, it is returning for 2015, and runs from today (17th June) through 7th September 2015. Frozen Royal Welcome
Princess Anna and Queen Elsa are joined by Kristoff and Olaf in a parade through Hollywoodland. The parade stops twice throughout its route for the audience to join in with a rendition of Let It Go! The parade is very similar to the 2014 royal processional, but with a brand new added float for Queen Elsa! The parade starts at the main entrance to the park and finishes near Star Tours - a longer parade route than last year, using the same parade route as the Star Wars Motorcade. For The First Time In Forever: A Frozen Singalong Celebration
The Frozen sing-along has been a permenant offering since last years Frozen Summer Fun event, although the show has now moved to its brand new home in the Hyperion Theater (the former American Idol Experience Theater). Photo below from Orlando Attractions Magazine.
The new theater has a much larger capacity than the Premier Theater, and has become the official home to the sing-along. Photo below from Laughing Place.
The projections within the show are now digital, and look a lot more vibrant. Projection mapping is also used on the walls surrounding the theater adding to the show. Photo below from Laughing Place.
As Wandering Oakens Trading Post is not featuring in this years Frozen Summer Fun event (due to expansion project to Toy Story Mania attraction), a new shop has been added at the exit to the Hyperion Theater which primarily sells Frozen themed merchandise. Frozen Fireworks Spectacular
The Frozen Fireworks are similar to 2014's display, but with new pyro design, and slightly changed on-stage appearances. The show once again features Anna, Elsa and Kristoff on stage, but this year includes Olaf on stage too - instead of onscreen. A few changes to the content have been changed, and the host and trumpeters have been removed all together. Guests social media posts are also not shown mid-fireworks. The Frozen Fireworks Spectacular will perform nightly at 9:30pm, apart from on 4th July and 15th July 2015. Video below from WDWMagic...
Olaf's Summer Cooldown
This is a brand new offering for 2015, and is a lovely new stage show at the main center stage in front of the Great Movie Ride. Featuring a rendition of Olaf's 'In Summer', and an audience summer dance with Olaf, even featuring beach balls! The 10 minute stage show ends in Olaf using his flurry to cool down the audience with snow and ice! The show is performed at the following times throughout the day; 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Frozen Fever Screening
The Disney short film, which was shown in theaters before Cinderella, is now showing at the ABC Sound Stage throughout Frozen Summer Fun. The Frozen Fever short is shown continuously throughout the day. Frozen Fever will not be screened in 3D as it wasn't theatrically screened in 3D. Photo below from Orlando Attractions Magazine.
Frozen Merchandise and Food/Beverage Offerings
There are of course limited-time merchandise and snack offerings. These are only available at the event, and are whilst stock lasts. The shop upon exit of the Hyperion Theater is dedicated to Frozen merchandise, so is your one-stop-shop for all your Frozen needs. There are 3 limited time Frozen Summer Fun cupcakes - the same three flavorings as at last years event.
Photo Opportunities
This year guests have the opportunity for a photo with the rock-trolls from Frozen! Photopass photographers are also located around the park as normal, but may also add some extra magic to your photographs by adding characters into your shots before they are uploaded to your MyDisneyPhotopass account! Once again this years offerings at Frozen Summer Fun are not to be missed - the Singalong will remain after the event in its new permenant Hyperion Theater location, although all other offerings are likely to only stay for the Frozen Summer Fun event.
