Disney's Hollywood Studios is about to get even emptier! On 12th July 2015, the Magic of Disney Animation will closed. The attraction and retail/M&G area will close at the end of operating schedule on this date. This will include all meet and greets in this area, the Mushu Show, interactive exhibits and Animation Academy.
Minnie will now meet guests in the central hub outside the Chinese Theater. Mickey will be moving to a brand new meet and greet location near the Studio Catering Company, expected to be in the old AFI Showcase building. It is expected that Hiro and Baymax will no longer be meeting park guests.
The Animation Gallery retail location at the exit of the attraction is expected to remain open until August 2015. It is unclear whether some parts of this attraction will return, or whether the building will be repurposed or demolished. It is expected that One Mans Dream may also be closing soon too. Something big is happening at DHS, but nothing has officially been announced.
