Escape to Walt's Wilderness is a new off-the-beaten-track tour available at Disney's Fort Wilderness Lodge Resort. The 5 hour tour costs $109+tax, which is typically run weekly on a Wednesday and Thursday, provides guests with a journey through the wilderness, and gives a taste of the activities Fort Wilderness offers to its guests.
The tour begins at 8am with a pontoon boat tour from the Contemporary Resort. Whilst onboard, guests will hear stories of Walt Disney and his passion for nature, from the guide. Wildlife guides and binoculars will be provided for wildlife spotting. When the boat arrives at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, guests will be treated to a camp-style breakfast and bonfire - typically including citrus salad, cinnamon rolls, biscuites, granola, coffee and juices. Marshmallows will also be provided for the bonfire!!
Following breakfast, guests will be transported to the archery center via wagon. Following an archery session, a hike in the woods will follow. Guests will stop at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch to look at the horses, learn about their care and their importance in the history of Disney Parks.
This tour is available for ages 7 and up, and complimentary resort transportation is included for those staying on property. The tour costs $109+tax and booking is recommended.
