Fantasmic to test different FastPass+ entry...

Last week, Disney began testing a new assigned seating system at Fantasmic, in a bid to stop guests having to queue a few hours before showtime. There will be another test on 5th and 6th August 2015 focussing on entry to the theater.

The test will allow groups to enter the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater with just one guest touching their RFID ticket media to the FastPass+ touchpoint or reader. This would reduce the delay in entry that currently occurs with each guest touching the reader to redeem their FastPass+ reservation. If a group doesn't want to enter the theater at the same time, the other guests in the party will still be able to enter the FastPass+ line until the end of the FastPass+ window.

Although these tests are being held at the Fantasmic show, it is expected that the same system may be implemented at other shows and attractions across the resort, specifically the new Rivers of Light show that will open at Animal Kingdom next year.
