Star Wars Launch Bay has now opened at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Located in the Animation Courtyard, the Star Wars Launch Bay becomes the go-to place for everything Star Wars at the Resort. The attraction replaces the former Art of Disney Animation building.
Guests first enter the Launch Bay Theater, which shows a short film with some behind-the-scenes interviews. Upon exiting the theater, guests enter two galleries which display props and costumes from the films. Guests then enter the two meet and greets; the dark side with Darth Vader, and the light side, where guests have the opportunity to meet Chewbacca in an emersive environment. Queues quickly rise to 60 minutes, no FastPass+ are available at the moment, but it is expected to be added in the future.
Upon exiting the meet and greets, guests enter The Cantina, which provides some photo opportunities with props, and wandering Jawas! The Cantina leads to the Star Wars Game Center, where guests can play Disney Infinity 3.0.
Near to the exit is the Preview Gallery, which provides a look at the new Force Awakens film. As with many Disney attractions, this experience exits into a gift shop selling some very expensive Star Wars props!
Chase Disney Visa Card members also have access to an exclusive Star Wars Imperial Meet and Greet location inside, which is offered daily from 11am to 4pm.
Extra Magic Hours and FastPass+ is expected to be added in the near future...
